Who doesn't love trying new beauty products? I get so excited in finding new beauty products that are amazing and trying new things. From that idea I started googling and came across these beauty sample subscriptions. After a bit of research I signed up to Lust Have It. Little did I know my mother had come across Bella Box and knowing how much I love beauty she decided to buy a subscription for me - BEST MUM EVER! So I get to try out both and see which one works best for me. This review is my first Lust Have It Month. Before we get into the product review can we take a minute to talk about this packaging? I love the hot pink packaging, everything was beautifully wrapped in matching tissue paper and it had this cute card which on the back gives you product details. I loved it!
In this months Lust Have It, you received either the Bloom foundation stick or their liquid foundation brush. I received the brush and I was really excited to try it. It felt amazing, light weight and soft - everything I love in a brush. I am usually not a foundation brush fan, I prefer a flat top or stippling brush but this foundation brush is amazing. It felt beautiful on my skin, it was soft and blended my foundation perfectly. No streaks! I am really impressed with this brush and it is one that I will be keeping in my brush pot where I keep my favourite regulars.
SOAK Hair Shine Shampoo and Revive Conditioner:
Growing up with a mother for a hairdresser, I have been fairly spoilt with choices for good hair products and I have been so lucky to have someone teach me the importance of good hair care. Naturally I have curly hair and also very dry hair so I tend to make sure I use highly moisturising shampoo, conditioners and hair treatments to ensure I am adding much needed moisture to my hair. Lately I have found a favourite of mine which I will be sure to write about but for now...lets focus on the SOAK hair products. These are really interesting as they include ingredients like maca root and purple kale, which is something I have never used in my hair before. The shampoo is a very gentle shampoo so if you have oily hair and need a really deep clean this may not be the right product for you. The conditioner is moisturising, soft, smoothes out the hair and left it feeling nice and soft. Both products have a unique and really pleasant fragrance and I enjoyed using them both. While I liked this shampoo and conditioner, I wouldn't be rushing out to buy them as they just didn't compare to my favourites. My current shampoo and conditioner are perfectly suited to my hair type... and I have tried a lot of shampoo and conditioners and nothing currently beats what I use. But if you are still looking for your favourite shampoo and conditioner combo, this is a good product to try out.
SOAK Booster Body Lotion:
SOAK is a superfood skin care range which I find to be really fascinating. This particular product is infused with Chia Seed and contains calcium, vitamin B3 and magnesium which is meant to boost hydration and promote healthy skin. Now I naturally have extremly sensitive skin and I can tend to get itchy and have detmintis on my legs, thighs and ribs and it can be especially bad in winter as my skin gets very dry. For me this product just wasn't hydrating enough and I also noticed after the shave I had skin irritation as well. I had to back it up with my Redwin Vitamin E Cream which it then calmed down. While this lotion smells nice, has a non greasy texture and is quick drying on the skin I think this is more suited to people with normal skin. If you have highly sensitive, dry skin I feel this did not provide enough moisture and I would not recommend using this after you have just shaved your legs.
HOLA Seaweed Moisturising Toner:
In my Lust Have It box this month I received the Hola Toner. This toner claims to use Seaweed extract to hydrate, refresh and smooth the skin while balancing pH levels and prepping the skin for moisturiser. I am not a big fan of most toners as I find it dries my skin out and leaves it feeling tight and uncomfortable. The only toner I trust is the Lush Tea Tree Toner Spray which I love. I have to say I was pleasantly surprised, this toner is great. It doesn't have a fragrance, it has a gel like texture and it is quite thick but it soaks into the skin nicely. It feels refreshing, soothing and my moisturiser does go on a lot nicer with this toner. I have to say the Lush Toner Spray is still my favourite but this is also a great product. Well done Hola!
Coconut Revolution - Coconut Body Butter Oceania:
Ok for starters, this stuff smells good enough to eat! that is a big plus in my books haha. If you are not a fan of coconut smelling products I would stay away from this but if you are you are bound to love it. Its 100% organic, cold pressed virgin coconut oil, sweat almond oil, sunflower seed oil and cocoa. This product reminds me of The Body Shop Body Butter. It has a similar texture and an amazing smell and it leaves the skin feeling incredibly soft without leaving a greasy residue. I also naturally have very sensitive skin and my elbows have been very dry lately as it is winter here right now. This product added great moisture and no skin irritation and left an beautiful coconut smell on my skin. So naturally, I loved it. If you are looking for a great body butter I'd recommend picking this one up.
This mask set is designed to whiten your skin with essence milk and is meant to help with circulation, skin regeneration, moisturise and give a smooth even skin tone while reducing the appearance of lines.
Unfortunately I was not a fan of this face and eye mask. I found the holes were not big enough and it sat to closely to my eyes and mouth and the fragrance stung my eyes. The masks were a little too soaked in the product and it made it very thick and difficult to handle. I personally did not enjoy the 20 minutes this was on my face and I didn't find it relaxing. Once the mask came off my skin felt fairly normal. It wasn't much softer than normal but my cheeks were a little less red than normal but it was also a cold mask and it was a cold day today in Perth. For me it wasn't very hydrating and I had to moisturise not long after as my skin felt a bit dry. I was very excited to try this but it just did not work for me.
