In my last blog I covered off some holiday make up and I hope you all enjoyed it and found some tips in there useful and our holiday was interesting that's for sure. The first thing that happened was our flight was cancelled on the day we were due to leave. I'm sure everyone saw all over the news about the ashclouds over Bali that had Virgin and many other providers having to cancel and delay flights. There wasn't anything we could really do about it but we were a bit disappointed none the less. So even tho we were delayed we got there in the end and we were so happy to arrive. We were very tired from the trip but also happy for the start of our holiday.
The next morning we met up with our friends and family for the first time. We were happy we had all made it there and we were together and ready to start the next part of our trip. My wonderful boyfriend Matt and I quickly packed and organised our bags and we headed off to catch our boat to Nusa Lembongan. If you haven't been to Nusa Lembongan you should really check it out next time you go to Bali. It's about half an hr on a fast boat and its a little bumpy so you may want to pack seasick medicine if you are prone to getting sick but its such an amazing place. It's quiet, beautiful clear oceans and full of resorts and wonderful people. The perfect little gettaway. We then spent the next 4 days and nights relaxing by the pool, soaking up the sunshine and enjoying the local food and of course beers. We also managed to fit in a bit of paddleboarding which I have never done before. Paddleboarding was a first for me, sometimes you probably didnt know is that I am extremely afraid of the water and don't like boats at all but it was really fun and a cool thing to try. There were a couple of little accidents while on the island, Matt fell off the paddleboard and also off a wall at the resort so there were a few cuts and grazes but we had many laughs and no one was serious injured. On the last day of Lembongan we were waiting for our car pick up to go to the boat and we noticed one of our bags wasn't zipped up properly and what had fallen out.. my travel wallet. Haha Bye Bye passport! After spending nearly an hour searching and having so many amazing locals helping me look I ran into someone who had managed to pick it up and was trying to return it to me. Talk about lucky! We also managed to just make it to out boat on time to head back to Bali. Haha talk about stressful but so lucky! I gave that guy so many thank you hugs that day!
When we arrived back we had 4 more glorious days to spend in Bali. We planned to relax, walk and explore new places and go back to some old favourites. Unfortunately I managed to come down with a cold... just my luck. But I am a tough cookie and wasn't going to let a cold spoil my holiday fun so we still went for long walks, ate amazing food, explored shops and met so many locals. One afternoon that really stood out to me was sitting at a tiny beach bar and chatting with the owner and my family while enjoying the cold beers and the sunset. It was such a beautiful afternoon with so many laughs and so much fun with a bunch of my favourite people. So while we were enjoying the sunshine, swimming in the pools and relaxing Matt and I happen to get quite sick which was a bit disappointing. We ended up spending out last couple of days and nights in our hotel room, getting room service and not feeling very well. We really didn't get to do much else and then before we knew it, it was time to come fly home. We got home safely but unfortunately not healthy, I came down with the worst flu ever and it has taken me probably about a month to fully recover haha. Poor Matt had to look after me for a week while I was couch and bed ridden... I watched so many series of The Office that week haha.
So while our little holiday had a few hiccups we still had a wonderful time. We laughed about everything that happened to us on the way, we made so many fun memories with a group of my most favourite people in the world and enjoyed many sunsets with beers. That to me made it a pretty great holiday.
I have included a couple of fun little pictures from our trip. In the next couple of years Matt and I plan to do alot more travelling. There are so many adventures to be had and so many places to see! I would love to hear about any of your travel adventures or any recommendations on places we should go next! I hope you enjoyed this blog and I would also love to hear about anything you'd like me to blog about!
